This year the city of Chicago may see 53 public schools closed by direct orders from Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration. The amount of school closings went down from 120 to 53 however, if all 53 schools are closed this will be the largest school closing in the nation. Mayor Rahm Emanuel's administration claims that these decisions had to be made because of the 1 billion dollar deficit Chicago Public Schools are facing. (more)

More and more young adults are getting tattoos each day, many are using them as symbols to express their individuality. While others see tattoos as decisions that can threaten their lives, image, and chances of getting a job.
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, 36 percent out of the 45 million Americans between the ages of 18 to 29 have at least one tattoo. (more)
Teen Pregnancy

Now in her thirties Yessenia Rivera recalls the moment when she first found out about an unplanned pregnancy, “I was fourteen years old when I found out I was pregnant. When I found out it was a great surprise, I had actually accompanied my friend who was going for a pregnancy test. She told me to take one too so I did, and at the end they called us in and I was the one who was a mother to be.”
Although giving birth to a baby is a blessing, many parents of pregnant teenagers would be pretty angry. Shannah Diaz stated, “When I found out I was pregnant most of all I was scared and angry because I didn’t know how my father would react because I knew he was short tempered.” When teens find out they are pregnant it is a hard time in their life, and a time in which hard decisions are to be made.
